From patent submission to solid oil blocks to fish testing to commercial operations
In early 2018, we reviewed hundreds of patents to see if anyone else had worked on solidifying crude oil for storage and transportation in a safe form that would not impact river, lake, or ocean fish, nor sensitive marine life.
After testing several light, medium, heavy crude oils and bitumen into different solid oil blocks, we knew we had a viable cost effective solution for moving crude oil in solid blocks.
We conducted fish tests in summer 2018 to ensure the fish were safe and the water quality was also tested to ensure no pollution would enter the environment from our proprietary solid oil blocks.
During the past 6 months, we have been designing a commercial scale facility to solidify 10,000 barrels per day of heavy crude oil to be moved in solid form from the oil fields in western Canada to both Canadian Pacific and Atlantic seaports for export to global refinery clients.
Our goal is ship our first rail cars of solid oil in late 2019 or early 2020.
Fish Testing - exposure to heavy oil - oil sinks and fish consume the oil
Fish Testing - fish consume crude oil and excrete waste oil
Fish Testing - Exposure to Solid Oil block - fish are calm and remain healthy, water remains clean, biological matter in the tank is normal fish excretement
